We start with sources
We prioritise official brand pages for the Italian or European market. Identity, size, formula, concentrations and price retain their source and verification date.
WAI LAB brings together information that is often scattered. Our method shows not only the data, but where it comes from, what it means and how complete it is.
We prioritise official brand pages for the Italian or European market. Identity, size, formula, concentrations and price retain their source and verification date.
We preserve international names and the declared order. We distinguish the full ingredient list from claims, key ingredients and promotional text.
A percentage enters the analysis only when declared by a verifiable source. We also indicate whether it refers to one ingredient, a complex or the entire formula.
Formulation, active ingredients, concentrations, price and transparency are assessed separately. If a component is undocumented, the score remains partial rather than being completed through assumptions.
Prices are linked to the correct size, source and check date. Commercial relationships and commissions do not influence WAI LAB scores, analysis or editorial rankings.
Formulas and catalogues can change. We therefore retain check dates, identify what a brand does not declare and update profiles when more recent or reliable data emerges.
INCI lists, sizes, prices and brand statements are source data. Scores, comparisons and matches are WAI LAB analyses. These remain distinguishable and are not presented as equivalent.
Missing information is not replaced with an estimate. We indicate when price, concentration, INCI, size or source is insufficiently documented and reduce the completeness of our analysis accordingly.
If information is unavailable, WAI LAB does not assume it.
Not declared does not mean absent: it means the source consulted does not allow us to state it precisely.
